The Board


Dorset Film Touring is governed by a small Board whose members have the dual functions of Trustees of the Charity and Directors of the Trading Company.

Board members are recruited from the local community and from the film exhibition sector and serve in an entirely voluntary capacity.

The Board currently comprises:


County Councillor

Trevor Jones OBE 

(Chair)

 

First elected as a councillor in Dorchester in 1973, Trevor Jones has served on all three tiers, County, District and Town.  A former leader of the County Council he has also three times been mayor of Dorchester.   In addition to his local government service he has headed up a number of local charities and currently is the Chair of Dorset Ambulance NHS Trust.   Nationally he has held positions within the Liberal Democrats, the Local Government Association and the Improvement and Development Agency.   He is married with four children and four grandchildren; his wife Stella is also a long-standing local councillor and a reception class teacher in a Dorchester school.  Trevor was awarded the OBE for political and public services.

Dr. Brian Clay

As a past Chairman of Dorchester Film Society, Brian has been involved with film exhibition in Dorset for over 30 years.  These days, he lives in Bristol and has a wider remit as the South West Secretary of the British Federation of Film Societies; he also serves on the BFFS national executive.  Film has always played an important part in his life: he met his wife Mollie when they were both members of Sheffield University Film Unit and they remain regular film-goers.

 Olivia is Film Programmer at Lighthouse, Poole.

 

 


Judith Higginbottom

Judith Higginbottom is head of Production at Sgrin Cymru Wales (the national film funding agency for Wales) where she manages feature film production and development funds. Recent films supported by Sgrin include A WAY OF LIFE (Amma Asante) which won the Bafta Carl Foreman Award 2005, and Peter Greenaway's trilogy, THE TULSE LUPER SUITCASES. She was formerly Chief Executive of the South West Media Development Agency, and Film and Television Officer at South West Arts.
